Egya ZAMORA is a modern hatmaker with a vivid passion for all forms of art. Second generation photographer, pianist, sailor, knitter, painter and jeweller, she is now fully devoted to hatmaking. Born and raised in the Northern Europe, she now lives and works on the South coast of France - the famous Camargue natural park known for its white horses, black bulls and pink flamingos.
Egya once literally stumbled on a hat tossing around. Thus, once a classic and boring felt hat turned into a nicely distressed piece of headwear that served as the prototype for her further hat making journey. Distressed hats have since became the main part of her artistry, in addition to classic local gardians’ (Camargue cowboys’) hats that has been the basic inspiration of Egya for launching into hat making.
